warm engine restart failures

Car starts right up.Cold engine.Drive to the store.Park, turn off engine. Go inside.Shop. Come back out to my 86 L98, Engine now warm. Try to start it.Turns over but dies. Try again. Turns over some more. Turnng ign on off and on. Try several time again with same results.Try again .Starts right up.Drive off. 112,000 miles.
