Turn signal on my 2002 Corvette will just quit working.

I will turn on my turn signal and before I complete my turn the green signal light goes out and when I try to turn the signal back on it does not work. I did find if I turn on and off the emergency flashers the signal will start working again. I thought about replacing the flasher unit.
