Turn car off and it wont start back up.

Originally started smelling something burning. Seemed like it was coming from the driver's side. Now,at times, after driving I can turn car off and it wont start back up. eventually after a few tries it will start up. All electrical aspect will work, but car will not even attempt to fire up. This has happened three times so far. HELP!!!!!
