Trying to help a friend locate the battery on a 1967 corvette roadster with automatic transmission.

I am stuck at home with a broken hip and left leg. Yes stupid miss step. A friend of mine is looking for the battery compartment on his newly acquired 1967 roadster with original automatic transmission. I thought I remembered that it was on the passenger side just in front of the heater core and behind the coolant overflow /recovery tank. He cannot find it there. Am I all wet? Bad memory?
