I purchased a transmission filter from Pepboys that caused me to destroy my 1997 Corvette automatic transmission. The filter was almost the same as the original but did not have an extension nozzle coming down to reach the fluid. As a result the transmission ran dry and now the reverse does not work. I did put back in the old filter and replaced the fluid which smelled burnt. When I went back to pepboys and explained to then that there Purilator ( P1211)filter was not the right filter for my corvette and caused this damage, they refused to believe me and did nothing. Now I have to deal with the cost of getting this fix with an unemployment income. What would be the cheapest way to fix this and is Purilater or Pepboys liable?

"This website is a passion of mine, just as much as being a Corvette owner," says Chris. He was frustrated trying to find information on the internet about Corvettes which was was not biased or influenced somehow.
He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
