Timing carb.engine runs grt.but doesn't move,also don't think carb 4 bbl is open ingredients

Engine runs excellent,starts right up.but when I step on it,doesn't have much pickup,also I don't think the qaudrajet is opening all 4 bbl,s can't here it.someone told me the dist. Was in the wrong position,they said I should move all the plug wires over 1 terminal on the dist.
