The wipers barely come out

My 1990 Corvette - When you turn on the wipers (I don't drive it in the rain, but I need them to work once a year for inspections), they barely come out and work sporadically. Any suggestions?

Wipers barely come out NEW
by: Anonymous

My 86 was doing this and read to tap on the wiper motor housing, the metal part with a hammer.
I turned the wiper switch on and the wipers would only move about 2 inches up and down. With the wipers switch on high I tapped on the wiper motor metal housing numerous times in several places and they started working and are still working. Give it a try with moderate tapping pressure. Hope it works for you.
