tach quit working

When you turn ignition key on tach goes to full scale as normal when started tach jumps around then eventually does nothing did a wiggle test on wiring no difference.

All the tach signals come out of the PCM so I would start with a wiring check and plug corrosion check at the PCM. If those all look good you might have to replace or repair the IPC. The Tach drive motor in the IPC could need replaced. To verify this you could purchase or borrow one of these ScanTool 425801 OBDLink SX USB: OBD Adapter/Diagnostic Scanner for Windows
to check proper tach signal output. If the signal on the laptop is steady compared to the IPC the fault is in the IPC or less likely the wiring.
