tach not working in a 1982 corvette

I found the tach cable laying disconnected by the distributor on my 1982 corvette, but I don't see where to connect it to the distributor. There also is a small pigtail connector on the same cable. the other end goes to the filter .
Can you describe where on the distributor this cable gets connected
