stuck in fourth gear with free motion of shifter

was driving 75 vette on highway in fourth gear, now wont go into any other gear ! has complete free motion when moving shifter , please help

Sounds like you broke a shifting fork. If that is it, I don't think you can get at it unless you drop the trany, Take it to your mechanic and let him do it.Good luck.
