stuck gas cap

1971 has been in storage for a number of years. Fresh gas and stabilizer put in when last run. thought I would be getting out sooner than latter but not to be. Now ready and first order of business was to drain gas and refill with fresh. Gas cap will not come off. Turns ok and looks and feels right but will not come off. Any suggestions?
