Stereo Problem

I have been having problems with my after market Stereo suddenly not coming on after working for years. So by process of elimination i replace the Amp and now the Stereo. I have also Ran new power and ground wire and basically rewired the entire stereo system. Now the Radio turns on and works great until i push the break it shuts off. I have checked and rechecked all my connections and have come to the conclusion its not from my installation but something deeper.

Has any one had this problem?
