start up ignition assorted electrical problems

When I start my car sometimes (not always) things don't work. EXAMPLES Start the car and the gas gauge shows empty with a check gauges warning. Restart the car and it usually works. I've started the car and my headlights don't work. Restart they usually work. This weekend when I started the car and started to move the engine would stop. It would restart and again quit when I started to move. There seemed to be a warning about column lock with that one. Took the key out and restarted the car and finally got it to go. During these periods usually a check gauges warning appears on the dash. Could this be a bad ignition....a computer issue or possibly a grounding problem that could cause all these issues? My car also has a service traction warning that comes on whenever I hit bumps...it has done this for years and resets every time I restart the car.
