2000 Convert with new Service Steering Column message. I can turn the wheels left and right with the key off, so I assume my steering column has either been fixed as part of the recall or had a bypass installed. Car starts, but does quit at the 2mph level. Cleared all DIC codes, removed Fuses 25 and 29 as your book suggests. No change in results. My Corvette mechanic wants to replace the steering column lock mechanism. First - will this correct the problem? Will it still likely fail later? If I replace this mechanism, should I also install a bypass kit? Any suggestions on how to fix the issues in any other manner?
Thank you !!
Established in 2008 by Chris Trautman, Corvette Web Central quickly grew into one of the top leading Corvette enthusiast websites globally.
"This website is a passion of mine, just as much as being a Corvette owner," says Chris. He was frustrated trying to find information on the internet about Corvettes which was was not biased or influenced somehow.
He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
