Replacing the clutch master cylinder

I have a '85 C4 and I'm having trouble trying to get the clutch pedal and clutch cylinder apart. I can't even see the pin holding them together. Am I missing something like some part of the dash has to come out first? I know there's a way I just need to know how to get the pedal disconected from the clutch cylinder.

their is a clip that holds the rod from the clutch arm from falling out you must pry it off.... caution it will fly iff pushed too quickly
