Replacing AC system on 1990 Corvette

by Ron
(Grafton, WV)

Just bought my first Corvette. A 1990 Convertible with L98 engine. The previous owner had started replacing the AC system components. He took out all hoses, accumulator, and had put in a new compressor. He gave me all the new parts when I bought the car. I replaced the condenser, accumulator, and all the lines. I know I have to add 8 oz of mineral oil to the system (R12 system). I have the oil but don't know for sure where to put it in the system. The manual says add 3 oz to the compressor, and put the rest in the accumulator but I don't want to make any mistakes at this point. Please give me specific instructions on how to do this part of the job?

He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
