Hello, I haven't seen this website yet, so I am newbe on here. Anyway, I bought car from original owner, and he took good care of the car, but it has 173k miles on it, and I want to do a rebuild. It runs fine, and doesn't burn any oil, so it is a good motor to build up some. My problem is; I don't know how to upgrade the horsepower and keep everything within the operating parameters of the computer. In other words, I want to achieve around 500 HP, but want it to be reliable as well. I want the computer to be able to interface as much, or even better than it is now. Here is what I think I need to do: Bore cylinders .030, new flat top pistons, balance crank or new one, 3angle valve job, better springs to avoid floating valves, roller rockers, semi-radical cam, perhaps mill the heads if recomended, will I need a new intake? recomended fuel injectors, recomended headers, recommended exaust, and recomended computer chip.
Do I need to have my machinist get together with my computer dude get together and make sure everything is going to work out smoothly and dependably? I'm thinking 2k money spent. Any insight from anyone on here that has already done this, would be greatly appreciated. I just don't want to re-invent the wheel as they say.
Thanks much
Established in 2008 by Chris Trautman, Corvette Web Central quickly grew into one of the top leading Corvette enthusiast websites globally.
"This website is a passion of mine, just as much as being a Corvette owner," says Chris. He was frustrated trying to find information on the internet about Corvettes which was was not biased or influenced somehow.
He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
