I have a 69 L46 with 4 speed, no power steering, no A/C. I bought a replacement waterpump, the "608" code pump. When installed the pulley does not align with the crank pulley. My old pump, also a code "608" has the fan mounting flange located 0.125 inches closer to the end of the shaft than the new replacement pump. The Corvette parts supplier swears the new pump is made to spec. Without this 0.125 offset the pulleys will not align. The balance and the pulleys all appear to be original to the car. What am I missing?

Established in 2008 by Chris Trautman, Corvette Web Central quickly grew into one of the top leading Corvette enthusiast websites globally.
"This website is a passion of mine, just as much as being a Corvette owner," says Chris. He was frustrated trying to find information on the internet about Corvettes which was was not biased or influenced somehow.
He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
