Periodic Key FOB Not Detected

2014 Stingray Convertible. Key Fob not detected. If Key Fob is placed into column, car starts fine. Batteries are good in both fobs. Both fobs have been tested by Chevrolet. Both are good. Sometimes fobs work, other times, fobs do not start the car. No phone or other musical device close by. Car is in the garage. Same problem outside the garage.

If I push the start button in, after 3 to 4 seconds, car starts. Using the fob, I never had to hold the button down for any length of time. The car always started.

Key Fobs
by: John

Hi there. I'm no expert but you said the Key Fobs were Both checked by Chevrolet and are good. Did the People at Chevrolet try to start the car? If they had the same problem, the only thing I can suggest is try a New Fob or the Problem would be on the Receiving end of the Car. Maybe an Antenna or Loose connection. Just my thoughts. But since you said the Fob had to be on the Column and you had to hold the start button for 3 seconds, to me that indicates a problem in the car. May not even be that bad. I have a 2017 and so far so good. Good Luck
