Passenger door will not open

The passenger door on my 71 coupe will not open. I cannot tell if it will not unlock or just will not open. Since it is closed I don't believe I can remove the panel. The previous owner apparently installed new door handles or possibly the complete mechanism.

I got the door to open. I could see the mechanism by shining a flashliight into the door from above. I used a rod and a wire hook to push down or pull up on everything that I could see! I kept looking at it and finally say a tab that I had not seen before. I pushed it with the rod and it moved. Voila, the door opened.
