Oil Pressure Gauge reading

My oil pressure gauge is reading very low. At cold start up it moves up some then once warm, it drops to almost nothing. There is no knocking, smoking, etc... What can I do?

Does the gauge go bad?
Is the pump in the oil pan bad?

I just hope it does not need to be broken down
