Hate this problem
by: RanRoss

I have the same problem, once you burp all the air out of the system it should run cooler. However, I have done all the same things you have along with installing a triple core aluminum radiator, installed a 160 degree stat and programmed the ECM to have the fans operate at lower temps 185 and 195. The problem returns with the over heating. So I'm still trying to make sure all air is out of system, before I give in and replace the head gaskets.

overheat situation
by: Scott

Did your new pump work initially? Some parts stores sell several, make sure it is pumping the right direction. Another thought is an air bubble, perhaps an internally collapsing hose or clogged gallery? I have to run the a/c on my '92 to get the second fan to start, dropping my temps to 220's in summer stop and go. Good luck.
