One solution for Shifter problem
by: VON

I SOLVED THIS INTERMITTENT SHIFT OUT OF PARK PROBLEMS ON MY '05 CORVETTE WITHOUT INCURRING ANY COST. I CAREFULLY SLICED THE SHIFTER BOOT WITH A RAZOR BLADE FOR ACCESS TO THE ROD THAT CONNECTS THE SOLENOID TO THE PLASTIC SHIFT LOCKOUT. THEN I SLICED A SMALL HOSE (1/8" INSIDE DIA. AND 1 3/4 IN. LONG) LENGTHWISE AND SLIPPED IT OVER THE ROD.
NOTE: ACCESORY IGN MUST BE ON TO ACTIVATE THE
SOLENOID AND HAVE THE ROD AT MAX. LENGTH. LAST JOB WAS TO SEW THE SLICED DUST BOOT WITH BLACK THREAD AND IT IS HARDLY NOTICEABLE. WORKS GREAT.
