My 2002 base c5 will not start or reduced power until dash lights and gauges stop flickering

I have a 2002 base convertible c5 when I turn the key on the gauges and dash lights flicker. sometimes I can also hear a clicking sound from the dash on the right. After it stops a minute or so the car seems to be normal. It will start and run perfectly. If I attempt to start it before the flickering stops it will either do nothing or start on reduced power mode it will also show low voltage, service active handling, reduced power and . The car runs perfectly until it’s turned off then the restart process is the same or turning the key and nothing happens. Taking the key out and repeating the process will eventually lead to a start and the car runs perfectly until shut off. This ritual seems to take longer as time goes on. I have tried changing the ECM it made no difference. So I put the original ECM back. Next I will try change if the Throttle Actuator module. What else could it be. Remembering once it starts it runs perfectly until shut off.
Thanks,
Jack

Instrument cluster xmas tree on a C5. NEW
by: Anonymous

I had the same problem. It was my ignition switch housing. The contacts get burned and corroded over time. I got a new ignition switch housing from NAPA for about $100. And that solved the problem. You have to take your lock cylinder out of the old housing and put it into the new one but it is easy to do. There is an opening at the bottom on the new unit. You take a flat blade screwdriver and press down lightly in the opening to release the lock. Good luck. Worked for me!

I'm experiencing the exact same problem checked my alternator checkout out my starter is good my battery is good. Also hearing the clicking. I may try to figure out where the clicking noise is coming from and replace that fuse.
