Common C4 Fuel system problems include:
Faulty Electric Fuel Pump

Restricted C4 Corvette Fuel Filter

Faulty fuel-pressure regulator
Leaking fuel injectors
Faulty C4 Corvette Fuel Pump Switch and Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Sensor

Faulty pickup coil (located inside the distributor)
Throttle-position-sensor (TPS) voltage too high
Faulty mass-airflow sensor (MAF)
Faulty coolant-temperature Sensor
Faulty engine controller

There are two oil-pressure switches on the C4 Corvettes. One switch controls the gauge and normally has one tan wire, while the other switch is longer and has two wires. Its also threaded into an oil galley behind the distributor. For the fuel-pump relay to become energized, oil pressure must reach 4 psi. This is why its important to know about this switch and how it impacts starting if its not working correctly.

Lets start with the basics first: Make sure the car has had a recent tune up first. Make sure to include the fuel filter!
Lets start with a fuel pressure check when the car is warm. So drive it around come back home and check your fuel pressure. Use a good quality gauge and install it on your shrader valve on the fuel. Once you have that properly installed per the instructions provided with the gauge attempt to start the car while monitoring the gauge. Pressure while cranking should rise once the engine oil pressure exceeds 4 psi. If it doesn't build quickly look into the switch we discussed earlier. If it starts monitor to ensure proper pressure of about 40 psi. If it does not reach this you probably have a bad pressure regulator or bad fuel pump.
