Memory seat function does not hold seatting

I have followed the procedures to set the driver position and the exit position. The exit position work as programed to move the seat and other settings when the door is opened. However the when I set the drivers potion it works until I exit (or open and close the door) when I push and hold the 1 or 2 button nothing happens. I have memory seats on my 2017 Traverse and have no problems with them. HELP this is driving me up the wall.
