LT 1 question

I have a 1974 c3 . The VIN number shows I have the T 250 horse power engine. A previous owner put LT1 emblems and stickers on the car. The LT1 was not offered in 1974. My car came with original paperwork and I found where the engine was replaced with an LT 1 engine and other upgrades in May of 1976. How can I identify the engine as a LT1? What’s numbers should I be looking for on the engine and what do they mean? One last question, where are all the serial numbers located.? Thank you Brian
