Just bought a 87 convertible and dont know how to put the ragtop down. where is the electrical switch located. I've located the lock trigger between the back of both seats but now what?

You should also have 2 power release switches on the end of each door for the hatch.
If the center release under the rear hatch is inop, check the both cable retainers are locked into the bottom of the hatch. If not, then the cables move back and forth without releasing the rear top latches. Have someone hold each cable in place while you release the latches, one at a time. Then replace the cable stays.

Youer top is not electrical, you have to unlatch the front and back than unlatch the rear hatch. After that than fold the back part up and the front part back and put the top down into the car and then close the hatch.

Release the 2 clamps at the windshield header. Open the Velcro flaps just behind the side windows. Pull the release handle under the rear deck to pop the rear pins, push the yellow button to release the rear deck lid as you lift up the rear of the top. Place a rolled up beach towel in the crease that is formed as you lift the rear of the top up and gently fold the top into the rear well. Close the deck lid.
