Is a request for confirmation of my car a scam?

I was recently contacted by email by somebody looking for their father's old corvette - told it was sold years ago and he was wondering what happened to it. I asked for the VIN number he sponded wiht my current vin number he said was from an old copy of the title. Does this sound like a scam??? I bought the car thru a dealer back in the 1990's and have a clean title.

I don't so .A lot of people want to buy back something that has been sold earlier,and they know
it has connections to their father and they want to bring it back.
