Car will start just fine and run great for a month and then all of a sudden without warning it will not start..Then about 4 hours later it will start again. Never know when this is going to happen. Have replaced the wiring harness..Can you give me any other ideas on what kind of problem this might be???

Thank you for your help

You said you replaced the wiring harness, but which one? When you say nothing happens, what exactly do you mean? 1) if lights come on then not switch 2) check blower fan if does not work then my bet is it is the neutral wiring harness preventing current to starter if you already changed starter harness

Intermittent start

If it is a 1974 model, there was a seatbelt interlock put on just that year model that wouldn't let you start the car unless your seatbelt was buckled. It was a Congressional mandate. So many people hated it, Congress reversed the law and most dealers dearmed the system. However, there is a little metal box under the hood, probably on a fender, with a rubber button on top, made to override the system for mechanics when it worked. That box can get really hot and the points inside open just whenever it feels like it. You can turn the switch on, everything works but you try to crank and -Nothing. Until it cools off and works again. Take the box off, and make a little 12 or 14 gauge jumper wire. Stick it into two of the connections and keep trying different combinations until the car cranks. You cant hurt anything trying it. Once you find the right two make you a permanent jumper and insert it, and it will never bother you again. This was only on 74 models. Other than that, I have no idea.
