Ignition switch (key) very hard to turn

I want to replace the switch assembly, located in steering column, it has a 9 pin connector going to it. Its been sitting for 5 years because I didnt know if I or the bank would end up owning it. It cost me $18,000 to get title with late penalties etc...etc... for a $7,000 loan. So Id like to get it back on road. for back-up to my daily driver which is 2000 honda civic, yeah, tell me about it.sad huh?
