linkgage adjustment?
by: Auto Appraiser * Ned

just a suggestion...make sure shifter linkgage is centered on adjustment***the 2 levers on the side of transmission must be in the exact neutral (usually middle upright) positiion when shifter was installed to start with for exact adjustment. check and re-check while shifting on a lift with vehicle off(turn driveshaft manually to get it to shift if needed)disconnect shifter linkgage off of transmission shift levers...then shift by hand (flip levers)see how levers move easy or hard? what usually can happen is shifter linkgage needs fine adjustment.....shifter linkgage can hold one shaft is not completely in the neutral centered position when trying to engage the other shaft to next gear. this will cause binding and not so smooth shifting....
one lever must be centered exactly...as not to cause internally difficulty in shifting between the internal shafts....it thinks its almost still in another gear and binds when trying to shift... hopem this helps. **also clutch pressure deflection to the clutch linkgage**too much clutch spring pressure can deflect the clutch linkgage..causing the clutch not to fully engage for smoother shifting>?

Clutch rigging
by: Corvette-web-central

Without knowing all the details have you tried checking the rigging on the clutch and or the pilot bushing? It may be possible that the clutch is dragging or the pilot bushing is causing a drag on the transmission input shaft! Just a couple of ideas we thought of here at the shop. Maybe some others have more input?
