New to me 2000 vette x's 3 months (( 70,000)), driving at interstate speed accelerated to 140 . when the tranny started shifting all over the place , pulled over to safety apron. All seemed ok , no oil no noise, accelerated up but when she went to shift to 3rd lost all forward drive plenty of RPM pulled shifter back into second and drove at 35mph for approx 35 miles at 2500 rpm with no problem. It will pull down to first and drive also, is this a electronic shift point computer failure or plain old pump drive or clutch pac failure. any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like Clutch Pack
by: Corvette-web-central

Sounds like a broke disk in the #3 Clutch pack. Very common as 3rd gear takes all the stress from forth gear overdrive and all the engine torque at higher highway speeds and engine speeds! We had the same problem with our Project car! Sorry! You can find good places to fix it try RPM transmissions in Indiana near Indy! He hooked us up good luck! Let us know what you find out!
