I am looking at a 1981 chevrolet corvette at a dealership. The vehicle only has (reported) 15,822 miles on odom. The dealer provided an Auto Check, but it only goes back to May, 1997 (10,823 miles). No one seems to know about the previous 16 years. Car Fax only goes back to March, 2009. How can I find out about the previous 16 years? Both Car Fax and Auto Check offer buy back protection and indicate a good report!!! Please give me some ways to go about checking a complete history of this vehicle. Thanks

If i really wanted beyond car fax I would hire a vette mechanic and have him go over it .
