fuel oder

after I gas up my 2002 vette I always get a strong gas oder, then it goes away after driving about 35 miles. I replaced the gas cap but it was the same problem. any ideas what could be wrong?

Your return line ,witch is a rubber hose running from the front in the engine compartment,may be rotted out or broken where it connect to the gas tank . I don't know how to check it , you might half to take it to a vette mechanic after all and have it checked .Sorry but that's all i can tell you .
