Fuel Filter 1976 Sting Ray ?

Hello,

I would like to know, I have read on Chilton's book ( page 1-25 at the very bottom right corner): do not perform changing the fuel filter on 1976 and later models, as special fuel filters with anti-spillage valves are used.
Anybody got any problem changing it ? Is it something really forbidden ? Or what are the tricks ?

There is no problem in changing the fuel filter. I have always put in a filter that wasnt OEM never had trouble.
