Engine won't stay cranked on my 2000 C5 Corvette.

Crank the engine and it will run for a while then shut off as if it lost fuel. It won't start back up immediately, you have to let it sit for a while, during which time the battery goes dead from trying to crank it. Jump it, and it cranks right up, and shuts back off or runs for a while again and then shuts off.
