engine starts ok will run for short period of time and stop.

I have a 1991 corvette C-4 that runs for a short period of time and then stops off as if out of fuel, I let it sit for awhile and it will restart and do the same thing, have had it worked on several times to no avail..keep having the same problem, injectors have been changed, fuel pump changed, still the same problem, it will be OK for a short time and then start again, can't keep it running long enough to get to a Cheverolet repair shop, will have to have it towed. I wonder if there is a problem with fuel filter (hasn't been replaced) The car only has 43000 miles and the problem just started several months ago. I have also had the ignition module replaced. I just was hoping someone out there has a solution before i spend anymore money and time trying to solve this problem.

Pull the fuel pump out of the gas tank and replace the 2 inch piece of rubber fuel line that attaches the pump to the rest of the system.
If you buy a new fuel pump this piece of hose is NOT included. A small pin hole or a split in this $1 piece of hose will reduce the fuel pressure at the fuel rails to the point that the car will not run properly.

providing all is well with your fuel presher and ignition spark. disconnect all your injectors and run a omes test cold. if you have any below 14.000 omes replase them. a good injector will read 16.200 if your car is in the late 80,s too early 90,s and you want to save a lot of money get some injectors out of a 4.9 caddy moter at a junk yard as long as thay omes out at 16.2 or 16.5 thay will work just fine thay are the same .... the reason your car starts when it's cold is cause your computer is in a open loop and is giving your bad injectors a lot of volts when it worms up and go's to a closed loop it dose not supply enough volts for a bad injector to properly work it only takes one or two bad inj to shut your ecm down or burn out the closed side loop. and or make it intermitant/unreliable.... hear's the smoking gun when it womrs up and shuts down litely... spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body see if it starts for a cople of seconds if dose it's your injectors IF all your injectors omes out ok replace your ECM good luck

If you haven't changed the fuel filter in 43000 miles ,check your manual,I think you will find that it needs changed about every 30000 miles or so .And if got some bad gas ,well it's going to be a lot less. CHANGE YOUR FILTER. Don

I think it's your fuel pump ,I had a car do the same thing on me . you can do it your self ,Two bolts and two lines,just not easy to get to .

I also had a car that did the same thing . the fuel pump was bad . changed it and everything was OK.

I have a 1995 c4 the same thing happen to me i changed the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and check fuel pump bteaker. It seems to running fine right now

Well the filter should be changed every 5000 miles i think . But they will go much longer .But if you picked up a bad tank a gas that would really block it and it would run when it first starts and then stop and after sitting for a while gas would seep through and build pressure again and start and do the same thing all over again . They are only about $8.00 and it needs done anyhow so why don't you change it and see? Would sure save a lot of money if you could do it your self .

try either changing out the gas cap or drive it without the cap for a little while. These caps are vented.
