Engine stalls after 15 minutes of driving.

I overfilled the gas tank last weekend and 15 minutes of driving it stalled. I opened the gas cap and let pressure out. Waited 15 minutes and drove home. Same thing happened today. Now the SES light is on. Could it be the gas cap? The vehicle has 41,000 miles.
