With the radio on, once car is turn off and doors are opened- the radio will not shut off.

when the radio is turned off - the clock will not shut down causing the battery to drain dead.

if i remove the radio fuse, my battery will keep a charge.

where is the short?

where is the door switch been looking and don't see it.

Sounds like door switch on the drivers door is bad. This tells the light to turn on and off along with the radio once the key is removed.
