Driving home on I-85. Car shut down, put it in neutral restared no problem!

I was driving home from Charlotte NC to my home in Cherryville, NC. I was driving around 70-78 mph. All of a sudden the car totally shut off. I move the shifter into neutral, coasted about 5 to 6 hundred feet. It started back up and never did it again?


What could have caused this. It is around 85-89 degrees today.
