DIC buttons won't work - no response from any of them.

Bought a used '99 Vette, 6-speed manual. Couldn't get the "change oil soon" to reset through the DIC buttons, googled to find out that 3 times on the accelerator with ignition on to reset that message. However, now the only thing displayed is total mileage - none of the buttons are stuck, positive click when depressing each one, but nothing happens when pressing any of the buttons, including holding them down for a few seconds... help!
