Correct original exhaust system for 1959 245hp engine?

Hi

Can you confirm that a 1959 283/245 dual 4 carb car had originally an exhaust system that had oval mufflers with a cross over pipe?

I want to bring my car to be judged but the NCRS books says only 270hp and 290 hp engines had cross over pipe.
