Convertible top issue

09 soft top convertible top. Top will open fine but the back part where the roof goes into will not open. Back hatch is latched to allow the roof to open and all windows are indexed. I changed fuses and made sure they went blown but no luck. The battery was changed awhile back thats why I checked on the window indexing and everything for lowering the top works except the back part does not open to let the soft top go in. Any info on what else I could try before heading into the shop with it. Thanks
