Okay, I have a 1978 corvette, 25th anniversary. but it was stolen about 8 years ago and the serial number was taken off of the front windshield. I need to know are there any other places that i can locate this VIN number?

vin number search.

if it is the original 1978 numbers matching vehicle...assuming it has the original engine block? the last six of the VIN code number will be Tattooed into the block on the right side block pad in front of the right cylinder head.
You may have to do some work for this but the build sheet may be in the vehicle...under one of the 3 cargo compartments carpets....or stuffed in the back of a seat?...you have to remove the carpets on the cargo doors to see if there? you may want to check with a fraud bureau for secret locations of the VIN...not well publicized but.... some vettes have the vin number located inside the boxed frame rails on the drivers side under the occupant compartment. need a search mirror on an antenna and a light to go inside the boxed rail? some had these stamped there and some did not? good luck!

VIN location
by: Corvette-web-central

Sorry it appears there is no other location for the VIN other then the windshield. If you had original documents from the car you may be able to match it up by date codes and casting numbers. It would be a real stretch though!
