Hi, I have a 1979 corvette that I bought to restore. Car was not running well but no running hot problem. Replaced heads because one valve was bad, installed summit alum intake, new radiator, water pump and clutch fan just for good measure, also running hooker side pipe headers and new quadrajet from Jegs so i can retain all stock functions. Seems to run at normal temp until i drive down road, still have not reinstalled hood yet,is that possibly the problem? Any insight would be helpful. I have been a tech for 30 years,as a master but have never seen a problem like this. I even tried a different water pump in case I had a reverse flow pump. p.ps runs about 195 at idle but hitting 220 driving down road ps has a 180 hd t-stat thanks.

Established in 2008 by Chris Trautman, Corvette Web Central quickly grew into one of the top leading Corvette enthusiast websites globally.
"This website is a passion of mine, just as much as being a Corvette owner," says Chris. He was frustrated trying to find information on the internet about Corvettes which was was not biased or influenced somehow.
He has owned three Corvettes over the last twenty years and does not plan to stop owning one anytime soon.
