buzzing sound

I issue with my 2001 Corvette C5 Base. I hear a buzzing Sound Coming From behind The steering Wheel dash when the car is off. When I open the door I can hear it then when I turn on the car it still does it then stops about minute or two later. I dont know what it is but its starting kill my battery I just got about 5 months ago its a Optima red top battery. I NEED HELP !!!
