buzzing sound coming out of the speedometer cluster speaker

a 2000 Corvette there is a little speaker in the speedometer cluster that is
making a buzzing sound? I think the speaker is for if you leave your keys in and open the door it will beep, But it stays on ie a buzzing sound?
Does anybody know about this problem, And how to fix it?

TROUBLED IN BEAUMONT CA.
