96 drivers side seat clicks and will not move up or down

The drivers seat in my 96 Corvette moves foward and backward with no problem, however it will not move up or down, you can hear a loud clicking/grinding noise when you hit the control button. Some have mentioned a seat track problem, but as I said foward and backward movement is fine. I was wondering what the fix would be for this.
