94 corvette shuts off and wont start util you let it set

the check engine lite comes on and goes out.the dist has been replaced and wires coil plugs.water pump replaced and ig module.car was running rough but quit.now the car will run for awhile and sut off. wont rstart unless yo let it set for awhile
ecm was just replaced also. it does this sometimes every day and then will go for weeks and not do it. please what is causing this.

Had same problem with my '89. Removed old starter, installed a smaller gear reduction type starter made by Hitachi, and the problem went away.
